A CHILI PEPPER CELEBRATION AND THE 3RD ANNUAL SISTERS FRESH HOP FESTIVAL ARE IN THE WORKS, BETTER CHANGE YOUR PLANS AND SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY

Sisters Fresh Hop Volunteer Training, Monday Sept. 24th at 6 p.m.:
We appreciate the support of all the community volunteers that make the Fresh Hop Festival a possibility, and are committed to hosting a great event.  To that end, we are inviting any\all volunteers (21 and over) to a general beer training at Three Creeks Monday night at 6 p.m.   We’ll cover the basic ingredients and process of making beer, as well as general sensory analysis and what makes fresh hop beers unique.    Make sure you’ve signed up with Jeri@sisterscountry.com as a volunteer for the Festival on Saturday, and don’t be late.

Chili Pepper Celebration Sept. 25-30 at TCBC:
We’ve finalized the list of events, and all things Chili Pepper has something for everyone.

Tuesday, 6 p.m. we’ll tap Zach and Terry’s Chili Pepper infused Knotty Blonde.   I’ll let them tell you all about it!!

Wednesday, 6 p.m. we’ll have our 20 judge panel decide which of 6 local restaurateurs make the best Chile Pepper Chili. If you think your taste buds and Chile knowledge are up to the task, sign up in the bar to cast your vote.

Thursday, 6 p.m. the much anticipated HABANERO WING EATING CHALLENGE will take place in the bar.   If you claim to like it hot, this is your chance to prove it.   We have 8 slots open, and the winner will receive a $50.00 gift card.

Fri-Sunday all open hours, it’s all about menu items and how to work in some type of chili pepper.  Look for things like Chili Pepper Apple Crisp, Roasted Hatch Chile soups, Chili topped burgers and more insanity.   Mark and the kitchen crew are getting a little ‘Hot under the Collar’ about the whole thing, and the special menu items are going to blow your mind.

Sisters 3rd annual Fresh Hop Beer Festival, Saturday Sept. 29th noon til 8 p.m.:
11 Oregon Breweries, 22 impossible to find in one place Oregon brews, live music, great food and great people are going to be on hand for this year’s event.  We’ve lined up the following Oregon breweries for your enjoyment:  Three Creeks Brewing Company (Duh), Crux Fermentation Project, Cascade Lakes, McMenamins St. Francis School, Alameda, Seven Brides, Ninkasi, Deschutes, Lucky Lab Quimby, Fort George and Oakshire.    An assortment your won’t find in one place again, and should make serious adjustments to any scheduling conflicts to attend :)

Fresh Hop Festival Saturday the 29th.   NUFF SAID!

The Kitchen Crew are knocking out daily specials that will blow your mind.  Keep an eye on our facebook page for weekly updates, but OMG they are killin it.    My favorite new item this week is Saturday’s Dinner Special which includes Grilled Crab Cakes in a roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce served with Rice and Chargrilled Veggies.  Not a fan of Crustaceans?  How about the Pork Medallions in a black peppercorn Sauce from Wednesday night (they’ll be back, trust me, they’ll be back often).   Drop in or call to find out what’s on special next, you’ll find a reason to drop in, I guarantee it.

September 2012

Brew Fest, Seasonals Galore, Chile Celebrations and More this month at Three Creeks

Sisters 3rd Annual Fresh Hop Beer Festival Saturday, September 29th:
Come one, come all for this years annual hop harvest celebration starting at noon in the Village Green Park.  Zach and Terry are on a Fresh Hop bender never seen before with a double batch of Cone Lick’r in the tank, a Red Ale Fresh hop brew (for which we need a name, any ideas) fermenting away and apparently a 3rd brew in the works that will include local hops grown in Sisters Country.   The Cone Lick’r is all Willamette Valley Perle Hops, which we’ll compare to the Red Ale made with Yakima Valley Hops Terry picked up.     Look for them all at the fest, and of course we’ll have them at the pub as well.

Happy Dirty Girl Race, Saturday November 3rd:
Fivepine Lodge and Three Creeks are proud to be sponsoring the fall event that includes a half-marathon and 5K run through town.   We’ll have packet pick-up on Friday afternoon\evening at the Fivepine Conference Center, along with some carbo loading dinner specials for all the participants at the pub.    For more information, go to http://www.happygirlsrun.com/dirtygirls/ .    We’ll see ya there…

It’s all about the Seasonals:
The brewery boys have been on full alert for the past few months, and I know you will all be happy to hear that several new seasonal releases are imminent.   Pouring today you’ll find Terry’s Special Bitter and Midnight Moonlight Stout.   These will be followed shortly by a RYE IPA, The Cone Lick’r, a Fresh Hop Red ale AND the Local Lick’r in late September.    Come and get em, they are sure to please.

Tasting Event at the Corvallis Brew Shop, September 21st:
In conjunction with Corvallis Beer Week we’re excited to be heading to the Brew Shop Friday afternoon for our first Corvallis event.  Look for more details on facebook soon.

All Things Chile (or Chili as it may be) Sept. 24-29:
During the 8 years Marlys and I lived in Phoenix, AZ we found and fell in love with the ever special Hatch Chile.  A friend of ours would bring back bags of them from his home town in New Mexico and we’d put them on/in everything.   So, what better way to lead up to a Beer Festival then with a week of Spicing things up.    Look for a Chili cook-off, Habanero Hot Wing Challenge, Chili infused Beer launches and all kinds of Chile inspired dishes.   If you have any recipies or ideas, send em our way and be sure to plan for a visit.   I’m dreaming of a grilled Hatch Chile Burger, how bout you?
